IO2 aims to create a user guide which will show teachers the theoretical process of how to produce an Open Badge for any topic they teach.
The Open Badge methodology will give teachers a new tool to assess the impact of their online teaching, as well as supporting self-study by students. Since Open Badges can be used and recognised by a number of organisations, this also gives teachers to collaborate with other schools in their region or even nationally, allowing them to share their effort. The user guide also paves the way for teachers to create a recognised qualification in specific topics where national qualifications are lacking.
The guide will be both text-based and available for download from the project website, as well as containing example videos of set-up of the MeLDE Open Badge system, to encourage its take-up by less technologically savvy teachers.
